Having got used to doing at least once overseas trip per year, I kinda miss travelling, but these days I’m having difficulty getting excited enough about any overseas trips to spend all that money. So I planned out a couple of New Zealand trips. Both of which are for two people, so if you know somebody that would like to do them with me … :-).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycle the Otago Rail Trail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I’ve done this a few times with Intrepid as a 4 day trip, but thought it would be nice to do it as a 5 day trip with someone. Slower pace and a bit more freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip could be extended with more time in Queenstown to do things from there like Milford Sound, adventure things etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Island Road Trip<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This one is a bit longer. The highlight that I planned it around was a 2 night cruise in Doubtful Sound. Two nights so you have a full day in Doubtful Sound. They only run the 2 night cruises during off-peak (winter), and I wouldn’t want to do the rest of the road trip during actual winter so there’s only a short window each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I come with a car (always useful for a road trip), a tiny tiny bit of local knowledge, and questionable car karaoke “singing” :-).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
